The Gender Equality Office recently attended a 4-day Social Impact Podcast Development Training Bootcamp in Tallinn, Estonia, held from April 16th to 20th, 2023. The bootcamp was organized by Stories For Impact, Koç University Social Impact Forum, Gerinorai.lt, and Social Entrepreneurship Association of Latvia as part of the Podcasting-Based Social Impact Learning Environment project. The project aims to create social impact by developing podcasts and increasing participants’ skills and knowledge in using podcasting as a tool for creating social impact.

The Gender Equality Office attended the bootcamp to learn new skills and knowledge about podcasting for social impact, and they had the opportunity to listen to inspiring stories, plan podcasts, and develop new podcast ideas in working groups with participants from different countries. The training also provided a great environment for exchanging information and developing new collaborations. The new skills and knowledge gained through the bootcamp will enable the Gender Equality Office to fulfill their action items related to awareness raising, dissemination, and engagement activities for gender equality, and increase the visibility of gender equality research and women scientists.

The bootcamp brought together participants from Turkey, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, who worked together on developing podcasts with a focus on creating social impact. The participants had the opportunity to listen to inspiring stories, plan their podcasts, and explore how they can create a positive impact on society with this tool. The bootcamp was organized with the help of the project “Podcasting-based social impact learning environment,” which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. The project’s partners are committed to organizing more such events, and the next bootcamp for podcasters aiming to create social and environmental impact will take place in Riga in autumn 2023.
